Writing this story on Kenyan referee Maqulate Onyango for espnW's Global Sports Mentoring Program (a joint effort with the State Department, and an incredibly cool initiative) redeemed some of my faith in sports after a really wretched week.
I am super tickled with these illustrations by Tom Mackinger for my story in the August 2014 issue of The Red Bulletin, "Your Life in 2030." This story took quite a bit of time to report, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. (Some of you will notice that it also takes place on my birthday.)
I have an essay up today at The Billfold, about, well, most of the things you see on this site. It's one of the more personal things I've ever put on the internet, and has now led to my mom knowing my Twitter handle. So I didn't think everything through.
I've been writing occasional posts for Barnes & Noble's book blog since July, mainly focusing on romance novels. You can find my work here.
For anyone wondering how the team I profiled in the October 2013 issue of Red Bulletin fared at the Flugtag, they...well, they did not fly so well. I hope they still graduate.
I recently finished recapping two summer shows, USA's Graceland and the CW's Breaking Pointe, for Television Without Pity. My fall shows are NBC's Revolution and the CW's upcoming Reign. And you can catch up with my work on Smash, The Following, and 666 Park Avenue in TWoP's archives. Thanks for reading!
From the May 2005 issue of Premiere, my set visit to George Romero's Land of the Dead, "Undead Men Walking."
